An Abu Dhabi group of billionaires has just taken over Manchester City football club for £210 million, says Atticus. The Abu Dhabi Group (Adug), fronted by 31-year-old Sulaiman al-Fahiro whose wealth is said to outstrip Abramovich's tenfold, now plan to spend on a scale never seen before, to make "Manchester City the biggest club in the Premier League." Big words, but they just don't impress me.

It is impossible to relate to billionaires – and no doubt impossible for them to relate to us. Ours is a strange world.
With its billionaires and beggars, it can be pretty incomprehensible at times.
