NOT FADE AWAY: JAGGER TURNS 65

Mick Jagger is now a pensioner, says Atticus. The snake-hipped lead singer is 65 today. Who said that you had to choose between burning out and fading away?

Jagger apparently runs about 12 miles back and forth on stage each gig. It's not just helped earn him a reputed £225 million fortune, it's kept him in shape.

I think I'd prefer to get my health tips from him than Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood, both of whom look more like Ents (the ancient walking, talking trees from the Lord of the Rings) by the day.

Mick Jagger maybe 65 but together with the rest of the Rolling Stones can command big audiences for every gig they play worldwide. Yes, there are many excellent current bands but they must all look in amazement at the antics of these in or around pensioner age Stones. And for anybody who might turn their nose up at these musical geniuses then get to a Stones concert quickly. As they say "There is many a good tune played on an old fiddle."

A Fellow Ent
David's point about playing an old fiddle is well taken, but Atticus is right about Woods and Richards. Ents of the world unite!
