One of my favourite words in ze French language is "épatant." It does not transpose very well to English. The once mighy babelfish translates it as "impressing." I would say impressive but it can of course be conjugated as épater or épatez.

For me it means more than impressive. It has to be VERY VERY impressive. It does not happen often in ones life but it does happen on occasion. Grand Canyon is épatant. Shanghai, I am told, is épatant. A Pétrus is épatant. The twin towers were épatant, as was their destruction. The word is not necessarily positif or negatif. Perhaps a better translation for je suis épaté is "my mind is blown.

It is rare that I am épaté by some internet gizmo. I have to admeet, however, that yesterday was an exception. There is a plugin for your web browser that ees called piclens. It allows you to to do picture searches but it looks so "cool" (as we say in France.) Download it, fire it up from within your browser and do a search for, say, Shanghai.

Follow the link here. You will be épaté
